It's been a terrific season at home, I found some form at the end of Comm Bank series and to score four hundreds this summer was fantastic. Hopefully there are some more big scores in the upcoming one-day series in the Caribbean. We are in St Vincent at the moment, which is a beautiful place to tour. The weather here is awesome and the ground is right down near the water and is a beautiful venue to play as you can see from the photo on the right.
After a few days adjusting the body clock in the West Indies I've finally got around to answering your Facebook and Twitter questions. There were so many I decided to pick out the best ones. Thanks to all my fans for their on-going support.
Saksham Anand asks: david i want to ask your biography where u was born, how is your background?
DW: I was born in Paddington, Sydney not far away from the SCG. I was raised in Matraville, which is a south-eastern suburb of Sydney. I have grown up there pretty much my whole life.
Ankit Rajput asks: which format suits your batting most?
DW: It’s hard to say, I suppose twenty20 cricket came most naturally to me initially, but in recent times it is the longer forms of the game where I am feeling more confident. I can take my time and when I play my shots there aren’t fielders out protecting the boundary, so there is a better chance of batting for longer and scoring more runs.
Many fans asked: Which one is your favourite format of cricket?
DW: I love twenty20 but wearing a baggy green in Test cricket is the most satisfying form to play, especially because it allows me to bat at my own pace.
Pramoth RedDevil Jack asks: Which is your favourite game next to cricket? and who is ur favourite sports star ?
DW: I love golf and rugby league and as for my fave sports stars there are a few. I love Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and AB De Villiers. Thankfully I’ve been lucky enough to play with some of those guys. I would love a round with Tiger one day.
Daniel Roy asks: what teams do you support?
DW: My favourite NRL team is the Sydney Roosters.
Thanu Shankar Raja Bro asks: Is dere any secret behind about your No 31 T-shrt number selection?
DW: I picked 31 because 21 was taken and so was 7 so I was stuck with that and in the end I have come to love that number now.
Many fans asked: Have you always been an opening batsmen? Were you ever a bowler or allrounder? Have you thought about batting lower?
DW: I used to bat in the middle order and enjoyed finishing off the innings but I wanted a new challenge and when I was offered to go up the top for my grade team, I took it and have never looked back. I bowl leg spin and will be continuing to improve on this area of my game.
Sam Morgan asks: Do u want to captain australia one day??
DW: Every kids dream is to captain their country and I am no different. It would be a huge honour, but right now I am at the stage of my team where I just need to try and cement a spot in the team. I have so much respect for international captains past and present because having seen the pressure they have to deal with it doesn’t look easy.
Arjun Sheka asks: how & y did u learn right hand batting???????
DW: I learnt when I was younger to bat both ways and the only reason I changed back to left-handed was because I felt I had more power that way and my coach said to me if that’s how I feel then stick to it.
Hrithik Singh asks: to u which bowler is the hardest fr u 2 play & why?
DW: The bowler I never like facing is Malinga, only because you know where he will put the ball and somehow you still find it so hard to hit.
Blair Harrison asks: wat do u look for when choosing your stick ?
DW: I pick the pieces of wood out for my bats and then they get made and sent to me. I like using them a lot in the nets before a game so the bat can be knocked in and ping off!
Morrison Mong asks: who's your favorite room mate?
DW: We don’t have any because we room by ourselves on tour but when I’m home my mate Colby and Ninj
SJWilliams says: do you play golf & what's your handicap?
DW: In golf my handicap is 12 but some people would say I'm cheating haha.comments powered by Disqus
